I had an extremely embarrassing moment at work today that I’m willing to share with you so that at least someone gets some joy out of it. I was at a concert with a couple of friends last night and while I was in the bathroom, they thought it would be funny to program my phone so that Siri called me “slut” instead of Stephanie. I didn’t realize what they had done until we were driving home and they asked me to find the nearest fast food place that was still open. I pressed on the Siri button to ask and Siri said, “Hello slut! What can I help you with?” We all got a big laugh out of it. I was so tired when I got home, I completely forgot to reprogram my phone. The next morning I was in a meeting with my boss and her boss who happens to be a Vice President. (Yep, you right about what’s about to happen.) I accidentally hit the Siri button on my phone and Siri called me a slut again, right in front of the Vice President. I didn’t know what to do, so I just pretended like nothing happened, but I still got some very disapproving looks from my boss and the Vice President. They didn’t find it funny at all. I felt like a complete immature jackass. If you’re laughing right now, I’m glad you can find the humor in my pain. I’m sure if I don’t get fired, I’ll eventually find it really funny too.
